A typical interface between the IEEE488 standard instrument bus and the MPU. With it, many instruments may be interconnected and thus remotely and automatically controlled or programmed. Data may be taken from, sent to, or transferred between instruments. The typical device will automatically handle all handshake protocol needed on the instrument bus.
